Which photo should I use?
A clear phone photo is a good starting point. Try daylight by a window or outdoors in the shade, and leave a little room around the head.
Look for these details
- Eyes and nose are sharp and easy to see.
- The whole face and both ears are in the photo.
- Even light shows the dog’s true coat colors.
- There’s one dog in the photo, with nothing covering the face.
Avoid heavy filters, screenshots, strong backlighting and cropped ears. Don’t worry about the background; it will be replaced.

How is the artwork created?
AI turns your photo into watercolor-style artwork. After you approve the preview, the design is digitally printed and framed. It isn’t painted or drawn by a human artist.
How do I approve my portrait?
After you order, we’ll email a preview of your artwork. Check your dog’s face, markings and expression, then reply with your approval or any changes you’d like. Printing starts after you approve it.
Can I order portraits of different dogs?
Yes, with one dog per portrait. Add a portrait to your cart with the first dog’s photo, then repeat for each dog. You can check out with them in one order.
Will the background in my photo appear in the portrait?
No. We replace it with a warm ivory background and a light watercolor wash. Choose your photo for the dog’s face and expression rather than the setting.
Is this a framed print or a digital download?
You’re ordering a physical 8 × 10 inch framed print. We email a preview for you to approve; a separate printable digital download is not included.
What if I need it by a certain date?
Artwork approval, printing and shipping all take time. Ask us in live chat before ordering for a birthday, holiday or other date so we can check the timing with you.
Will it work with my dog’s coat and markings?
Yes. Use a photo with enough light to show the eyes, muzzle and coat texture. The examples above show dark coats, white fur, curls and merle markings. Check those details in your preview before you approve it.
Can I use an older photo for a dog memorial portrait?
Yes. Choose the clearest original photo you have, with the face and ears visible. If you’re unsure about a blurry or cropped photo, ask us in live chat before ordering.
